Outreach Services
The center provides services for families and the community, including preschool vision screening of “ability awareness”activities for local schools and “Saturday Seminars”; a series of training opportunities for professionals in the community. Saturday Seminars (spring months only)
The center also provides low cost professional training opportunities to community providers. “Saturday Seminars” cover a wide range of topics pertaining to pediatric issues, and offer continuing education requirements for early intervention credentials and professional licensure.

Vision Screening & Ability Awareness
The center has two other important volunteer community services available within the 50 mile geographic radius. The Vision Screening Program annually screens approximately 3,000 preschool age children in the St. Louis Community. Staff and volunteers visit area schools upon request to promote awareness of visual impairments as part of schools “ability awareness” programs.
